Here is a subtle reminder of my face :) This week I'm off to Cape Town, for my cousin's wedding. I'm real ampd, not only for her nuptials, but because I'll be taking pictures of MORE FOOD FOR YOU LOT TO LOOK AT!

#Nowplaying Cheap Trick - I want you to want me

I was hungry as I always am. And after roasting (burning) marshmellows in a striped vase in the "arb lounge" of my house, I proceeded to make a grilled 'wich with a twist at 10pm. 

 

Earlier on in the day while half-mindedly watching "Secrets of a Restuarant Chef", I was inspired to make a chilli, pepper, garlic and onion  olive oil infused mix to spread on the 'wich,to give it a bit of a punch.

The infusing part took a while, since my onion cutting skills are abit pants, I cried so easily and scrammed for a tissue like a pansy. Repeatedly telling myself, DON'T TOUCH YOUR EYES. I'm very foolish and will touch my eyes with the onion tissue and oniony hands.

It took a good 45 minutes to make this 'wich, seriously?! was it worth the jazz?!... My mom said, it was too skinny and didn't taste as good as it looked. Psssht! Then again I only gave her one slice at 11pm. So she ate half asleep...

Patata Soup

The potato's were in the pantry as well as the garlic and onions, and then it hit me! "I WANT TO MAKE POTATO SOUP!" and so I did. I did some intensive Googling, took a good chunk outta my cap and finally found a suitable recipe. After a considerable amount of pondering and wondering if I should really go ahead making this sludge, I just did it. 

May I present my Patata Soup.

I did not go anywhere, my padre did. And he got me some goodies, of the edibilicious kind. Always the sweetest, righty? He also got me a mantos which fits really well and snug almost like a second skin, then again he bought me a size 1! 

Now if you're wondering why I'm SO chuffed with these sweet goodies it is because here in the good ol Republic of Zuid Afrika, our sweet selection is pretty generous but not really adventurous. We get the good stuff but really once in a while, it's usually through underhand dealings, where we gotta tell a "connection" overseas to hook us up when they come on down. But hey! NO complaints!  

I took advantage and told my padre, while he is dwindling in duty free to get me some chocs and that is what he did. Gracias padre.

Those MnM's weigh a 1kg, quite a workout.

There I was at Nando's on the strip waiting to get my chicken on when I noticed the art on the wall. Nando's in South Africa takes great pride in local artists and the work they do. Our artisto's are amazing, not only do they recycle but they do so by finding their fav bottle caps and turning it into a work of art. I love bottle cap art, anything from bags, earrings to purses, these guys are pure geniuses. So without further ado, I present:

I love going to this Nando's in particular simply because, just behind it there is a sweet-ass African arts and crafts shop which houses recycled goods. They have THE best selection of goodies from life-sized beaded goats to Chappies purses.
